Wired or Wireless

Wired Analogue cctv

Coax cable

ANALOGUE cctv uses co-axial cabling, which provide signal protection from outside electromagnetic interference and runs from each camera to the video/recording station. This requires a separate cable for each cctv, for audio, etc., which are complex to install, expensive to maintain and upgrade.

Wired Digital IP

RJ-45

Modern DIGITAL IP surveillance systems with CAT5/ 6 cabling, is the same as that used in a computer network. Unlike coaxial, several digital camera signals can share one CAT5/ 6 cable, therefore requiring less cable. Also, the same CAT5/ 6 cable is used for new functions like remote view, camera controls, ‘live’ audio with video, and power - less physical cabling using switches and hubs means reduced complexity, improved reliability, resulting in lower maintenance cost.

Wireless

Until recently, wireless video surveillance was subject to interference, hacking, and lacked reliability. But due to advances in radio technology, it is now possible to get a reliable, easy to manage, secure encoded wireless system, which is designed for low cost indoor transmission. When CAT5/ 6 cabling can cause disruption and is expensive to install - wireless video surveillance overcomes the limitations.

For harsh outdoor environments, we have reliable, high-resolution wireless video streaming solutions, which does not put a large load on the radio network.
